Equanimity is Peace of Mind. It is not to be confused with indifference. It is only being indifferent to the Ego. Detached from craving, Fear, ignorance, lust and all other elements that create Suffering.
Equanimity is abundance. It is approaching everything with an open vision. Bear suffering, failure and disrespect calmly and do not let yourself be carried away by praise, pleasure and success. Look upon both with equal vision. Stay true to your Stillness.
This state of mind of psychological stability, or better said our true nature, is undisturbed by Experience or exposure to emotions, pains or other mental phenomena that may try to disrupt the Balance in your mind. By practicing equanimity one can truly observe the world.
The world unfolds in front of our Presence. However, if we identify with the body and mind as being our identity, our Ego comes into play. The world becomes finite and limited. With equanimity one is able to witness the only unchanging Reality. Pure Presence.
